Scuba Diving

Description

Starting from $750

Explore marine diversity with Experienced PADI guides and instructors.

Scuba Diving in the Gulf of Papagayo: Discover the incredible underwater world of Costa Rica’s North Pacific coast. The Gulf of Papagayo is home to some of the richest marine biodiversity in the Pacific, where plankton-filled waters attract a variety of marine life—from massive schools of fish to majestic manta rays and bull sharks. Whether you’re a seasoned diver or trying scuba for the first time, we offer experiences suited for all levels.

Dive Experiences: Choose a dedicated dive trip to maximize your bottom time, or extend your surface interval by combining your dives with other activities during an Ocean Discovery Tour.  You can add diving to the list of other activities that we have available on these tours, and make the most out of your time on the ocean.

Dive Courses: If you are a new to scuba diving, or simply want to elevate your certification, we offer all levels of dive courses.  Our PADI-trained instructors provide courses ranging from Discover Scuba Diving to Divemaster certification. Training can begin in the comfort of your own pool before heading into the open water.  Feel free to combine your PADI training with other activities and family members by customizing an Ocean Discovery Tour to include instruction.

Seasonal Highlights

  • Dry Season (December – April): Cooler water ( mid 70´s°F)  bring sightings of humpback whales, whale sharks, large schools of fish, giant pacific manta rays, southern stingrays, large schools of devil rays and golden rays.
  • Wet Season (June – November): Warmer waters (up to 85°F) and increased visibility (35+ ft) increase the chances of seeing turtles and white tip reef sharks, as well as bull sharks at Bat Islands; this time of year brings more humpback whales with it, and is considered the best time of year for diving in the area

Explore over 10 dive sites within a 20-minute boat ride. These waters are teeming with marine life, from vibrant reef fish, to eagle rays to white tip reef sharks. Additionally you can hope to see octopus, sea horses, many different kinds of moray eels, turtles, and other animals both large and small.
