Our Family Story
Almaco Tours began in 2005 as both a dream and an adventure for Miguel Sanchez and Bari Lehrman. Originally from Barcelona and New York, this dynamic couple spent years traveling the world before finally crossing paths. Their shared love for travel and the ocean brought them to settle in Playas del Coco, Costa Rica, in 2003, where they decided to build their future and start a family.
With dedication and a commitment to excellence, what began as a simple backyard operation with a small skiff and a few sets of dive equipment has grown into the Almaco Tours you know today. Despite its growth, Almaco remains a family-run business, supported by an incredible team of local guides and captains who share the same passion for creating unforgettable experiences on the water.

Our fleet consists of five boats, each designed to provide the best possible experience on the water. Whether you are exploring hidden beaches or diving at the top underwater sites, our boats are built to meet all your adventure needs.
All vessels are equipped to U.S. Coast Guard safety specifications and carry all the necessary safety instruments onboard. Additionally, every boat is insured for Civil Responsibility for up to $2,000,000, ensuring your safety and peace of mind throughout your journey.
